25mm Old Glory - Wars of Ozz - Lesser Pumpkin Heads

Finished more antagonists for my Sleepy Hollow horror themed game. Here are the Lesser Pumpkin Heads from Old Glory's Wars of Ozz range. I picked up the cavalry but passed on the catapult artillery and giant pumpkins. For Ozz they would be necessary but not for this particular project. 

I used a lot of the Army Painter Speedpaint 2.0 on these to try out some of the new colors - a few are quite exceptional: Ochre Clay and Moody Mauve being standout favorites.

I did just layer up over the Fire Giant Orange for the heads just to give them a more layered and blended appearance, but much of it I left alone - especially on shoes and gloves.

Here is King Jack, the Pumpkin Headed Ruler - love this guy! I tend to prefer all my commanders pointing out targets.

Here are two of the three mounted command. For a horror game this is already getting quite silly. Still fun!

These guys need names: Gourdeous George?

Gourdon Bleu? Pumpkinator?

This is the third mounted commander and I should have finished him with the scarecrow unit from earlier in the month.

As a reminder as much to myself, I have used Army Painter Highland Tufts throughout this entire project - all the way back to the Colonial Militia units. My method now, has been to have at least three different textures going forward: some kind of tall tuft, some kidd of static grass and then either rocks, or a more granulated turf of ground foam or, as in this case, dead leaves. Future models will get a dash of pressed leaves from the Green Stuff World Leaf punches to add some color and what Vince Venturalla calls, "visual interest." 

And there he is integrated in with his own unit.

Finally, here's alll the Old Glory, West Wind and Reaper stuff for this project in a lump: 44 rank and file, 2 monsters, 3 mounted command, 1 dismtd, and 3 small aberrations totaling 53 models. Plenty to have a game with now! 

I also have a half dozen different Headless Horseman models, more monstrous pumpkin beasts from Reaper and North Star as well as many more scarecrows from various manufacturers to do but I may turn to something else in the interim. The workbench is continually overloaded with WIP options that need attention.

25mm Old Glory - Wars of Ozz - Harvesters - Fearsome Scarecrows of the Night

Twenty Scarecrows from the newish range from Old Glory. They'll be repurposed for the Sleepy Hollow/American Colonial horror game I'm building. 

In whatever rules I use, I'm guessing they'll need some protection from musketry but heightened vulnerability from fire and other incendiary attacks. 

I also have a bunch of other scarecrows and straw/ pumpkin monstrosities from West Wind, North Star, Reaper and Foundry who will fill out the ranks of the antagonists. West Wind's Sleepy Hollow range and Old Glory AWI Americna Militia (many of which are seen here already) will make up the good guys.

Some of these could be peeled off for Silver Bayonet too.

I based them in the three/two/one method: 3 stands of 3 figures, 4x2, and 3x1.

All were done in the Speedpaint/Contrast method with no pre-highlighting, no slap chop, no zenithal priming, no pre-shading just straight from the bottles.

I did touch up all the pumpkin faces as well as add additional highlights to the hat bands. Metals were a silver covered in Army Painter Strong Tone.

The Lesser Pumpkin Heads and command are already in progress and will feature shortly. I'd added more colors from the Speedpaint 2.0 release so they could look tonally different.
